A Little of Everything

Nothing too crazy has happened lately.  We've just been clicking along with everyday life.  My parents were in town this last weekend because they worked at the temple on Saturday.  I love when they come.  Our boys are obsessed with them.  I about died laughing when my mom talked with Mikey about going to the nursery on Sunday.

Mom: "Hey Mikey do you get to go to nursery at church?
Mikey: "Yah!"
Mom: "Do you have so much fun?"
Mikey: "Yah!"
Mom: "Do you sing songs in nursery?"
Mikey: "Yah!"
Mom:"What songs do you sing?"
Mikey: "I Bebe in Miracles!" aka "I Believe in Miracles" aka "You Sexy Thing"

It sounds like Mikey's Sunday class is a lot more fun than all of ours.  Both of my guys are obsessed with that song.  Maybe we should spend more time singing churchy songs.

Last Sunday Tom and I celebrated our 6 Year Anniversary.  Can you believe it?  We went out on a fun date on Saturday and talked about all the cool trips we'll go on at some point in the future.  I have to say that Tom's family dominates at celebrating things because everyone called or emailed to say Happy Anniversary.  So nice!  The other day, I was organizing our room/closet and found a binder of old emails that Tom had put together for me one Valentnes' Day.  Here are the first few.

from Tom to Emily

Emily-Kick back relax and enjoy the most random e-mail that u have gotten in a long time.  You may remember me as Tyler DeWaal's friend from the land Northward aka Utah State.  If that doesn't ring a bell, I'm the guy who has a brother that looks just like him aka I have an identical twin brother.
Give up? Maybe a name would help.  Tom Robins.

Anyway my time at Utah State is done and it looks like all roads make a pit stop in Provo Utah for some reason.  I now work on campaigns and I live only 3 minutes from Tyler in Provo.  Last weekend Tyler and I flew out to Chicago and went on a camping trip.  He said to me that you were living in the Provo area teaching.  I told him that it would be fun to see what you were up.  So he got me your e-mail and as a result now you are getting the most random e-mail possibly ever.  So anyway if u wanna give me your phone number that would be fun.  I need someone to show me how to survive living in Provo Because I'm not it Kansas or Logan for that matter anymore.  Tom

Hey Tom,
I appreciate your randomness.  We should hang out sometime.  I'm a school teacher so I'm free from all responsibility for the next few weeks.  Give me a call 377-4306.

Reading those emails makes me laugh and get a little teary-eyed (happy tears of course).  I'm really grateful that Tyler got the ball rolling with Tom and I and that he told Tom he was lame when we broke up.  Thanks for having my back Tyler!  I remember calling Erica around the time Tom and I went out for the first time and saying something like, "Wanna hear something funny?  Tom Robins asked me out on a date."  When Tom and I started dating more seriously, I remember Erica saying something like, "I just think it's funny that you're dating Tom Robins."  Well, obviously one thing led to another and now I have a house full of wonderfully fun and amazing Robins boys.  Speaking of which...

Don't these guys look funny in their goggles?  I took this picture at the beginning of the summer when they wore their goggles all the time.  Ironically neither of them keep them on long when we go to the pool
A few weeks ago, I sold our sandbox and got a water table.  I love that there isn't sand everywhere and they love playing in the water.  One day I put bubbles in which they also loved.  Don't mind Ty in his undies.  By the end of the day, we usually have a pants optional policy with the boys.
For example, here they are hiding from Daddy.  At least once a week they hide and I say something like, "Daddy I'm so glad you're home!  I feel so badly, I lost the boys.  I can't find them anywhere."  Tom says, "OH NO!  You lost them!  Maybe I can find them in their room."  I love waiting to see how long they can stay quiet while Tom looks for them.  I think a minute might be the record.
Here we are with our underwear super heroes.  Really cute now...Really embarrassing later.  I love it!

Thanks for the fun post! It reminded me of Carly singing "I always feel like somebody's watching me ..." and then saying, "That's true. Somebody is always watching. That could be a church song!"

"I Believe in Miracles" could be a church song, too. Maybe we should start a list for our own custom hymnal :)
