5K Saturday

Yesterday there were two 5Ks in Edmond that looked fun.  One was in the morning and one was at night. I convinced my super fast friend Amy to join me and we ran both which is something neither of us had ever done.  I loved it and would totally do it again. 

 

Tyler took this picture of Amy and me which is why we look a little like giants.  My running times have been all over the place lately so I didn't really know how fast I'd be able to run.  Surprisingly, I ran one of my fastest times ever and came in 3rd overall (with the women) and 1st in my age division.  I was shocked.  I wasn't shocked at all that Amy came in first overall.  She's amazing.  I love it!

 Tom and the boys came to cheer us on in the morning.  It was sponsored by an art museum so the boys got their faces panted.  Tyler made Mikey go first because he was nervous.  Once they were both made-up everyone made comments about how cute they were, and in true Robins fashion, they basked in all the attention. 

 I was tired by the time the second race rolled around and assumed my time would be much slower.  I think being in the same race with Amy makes me faster because my time was only a few seconds over the morning run.  Obviously, hers was fast too.  For that race, she came in 3rd overall and 1st in her age group and I came in 5th overall and 2nd in mine.    

Hooray for running!  I'm debating on doing a half marathon in a couple of weeks.  I know I'm not totally prepared but I'm sure I could finish.  I guess we'll see how this next week goes and I'll make a decision.
