Yesterday Tyler was going through his usual routine of pulling out all of our DVDs and CDs and putting them on the floor. Because this ritual brings him so much joy, I didn't have the heart to stop him. When I was cleaning up, I realized that he pulled out an old tape from when I was in the youth program at church. A bunch of us kids put on a readers theater program about keeping high standards. All the cheesy songs flooded my mind, "Modesty is Always in Style, Good Friends, Stand Up Walk Away." While the program was pretty cheesy, I'm really grateful for the youth leaders who took so much time and exercised so much patience in teaching us to have high standards.
I'm also grateful for...
"Good Friends, everyone needs good friends...The kind who see you make mistakes...The kind who love you anyway...The kind who live from day to day...true to all they believe...The kind of friends who'll never leave you crying...They're always trying...to be good friends." (No, I didn't need to look up the lyrics...I still know them by heart.) :)
