Gram entertained Tyler up to the last second of our time together. I love the way she creates such lasting memories for my boys...and me.
This year the Camp Grammy Craft was decorating a bird house to put on the stairs leading down to the deck. Cute idea huh?
Here at Camp, there is a clothing optional policy for the boys.
Gram has a really cool convertible. The boys loved taking a ride in the back seat.
Mikey kept squealing, "Wind! Wind!"
As always, there was tons of great food!
Grandpa Tim's Juke Box Dance Party is always a big hit. Mikey especially loved it. We would all start chanting "Mikey! Mikey!" and he would run all around kicking his legs and waving his arms.
Big Mike took time out to read stories to Tyler.
Seriously, Tyler is Mike's number one fan. I love it!
We talked with The Watsons on the computer which wasn't nearly as fun as having them there but at least we got to see them. That was the only sad part this year. It's not the same without the Watsons.
Luckily it was super hot so we got to spend tons of time in the pool. Something clicked for Tyler and he started "swimming" all over. I was super proud of him. Here, he and Tom are being sharks.
Gram always has tons of outside toys set up in the driveway. The boys literally played for hours. Mikey's favorite toy was the water table and Tyler's was the red trike.
When we arrived, Grandpa Tim picked us up from the airport and we went to Portillos for dinner. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water...oh so good. Grandpa Tim was nice enough to share his shake with Tyler.
Great Uncle Tom designed Camp Grammy T-Shirts. Don't they look awesome...and very camp like? The boys thought they were the best thing ever. I should have taken a close up picture; he had "Camp Grammy"embroidered on each shirt. I love this picture because Mike and Brian look like they are about to die from having to take pictures. Hooray for Family Time!
Non-Pictured Highlights:
I loved spending extra time with Uncle Tom and Aunt Sue. Our boys got to know them a lot better. They were so fun...like another set of grandparents for our boys.
Me Winning the Family Bags Tournament...with a little Help from Annie :)
Mikey Yelling "HI TIM!" when Tim was Singing in the Church Choir
Hanging out with Brian and Erika
Big Mike Bringing USU Basketball T-Shirts to all the Boys
Eating Chicago Pizza on the Way to the Airport
The Family Party
Great Uncle Mike said something like, "Hey Rits (aka Aunt Rita) did you see these cupcakes?" Mikey then thought the cupcakes were called "Rits" so he kept yelling, "Rits! Rits" and reaching for a cupcake.
We put Tyler down for a nap right as the party was starting. We assured him that we wouldn't start the party without him. He obviously got up from his nap after five minutes of laying down. He found me and started crying, "You said you wouldn't start the party without me." Gram quickly showed him that the cake was intact and that we wouldn't eat it until he got up. He was convinced and went back to bed.
Grandpa Tim Dedicating a Song to Tyler and Mikey on his Radio Show
Tyler: "Grandpa is IN the radio!"
Tyler's inappropriate comments on the plane ride out to Chicago.
Tyler (in his typical loud voice..while laughing): "HEY! That lady is brown ALL OVER!!!"
Me (whispering): "Yah...shush honey."
Tyler: "MOM! DAD! She's BROWN all over!!! DAD stop poking me. Look she's brown all over."We were dying. Obviously he wasn't being naughty. I think it was just the first time that he noticed we all have different skin tones. It's no surprise that Tom and I have a kid that can't talk in a quiet voice.
Now we are all on Camp Grammy detox wishing that we were still there.

It looks like you guys had tons of fun. I was laughing so hard at Tyler's comments on the plane. My counsins daughter always refers to their neighbor as the little black girl. They have tried so hard to get her to use the little girls name but she just can't quite get it yet. Too funny!
So fun to see this post. The t-shirts look great! I was laughing so hard when I was reading the boys' comments at the end that I was crying. That hasn't happened for a long time. Sorry we missed everyone this year. Thanks for keeping us in the loop. We love you guys!
THANKS for the memories and recording them! We LOVE having everyone come to Camp Grammy!
