Snowklahoma

Last week we were pounded with snow...something like 15 inches one day and then a few more a couple days later. (Do you like how precise I am??) Today it's snowing again. Last year Tyler didn't have a positive experience with snow. It seemed like every time we brought him out he'd fall face first in it and start crying. This year he liked it a little better but I think the massive amounts were a little overwhelming. Do you like Ty's fancy snow boots? Mandy...Kelly...does this remind you of our ghetto boots back in the day? When I was little, I honestly didn't know that there were such a things as kids snow boots. I also walked uphill to school in the snow both ways. :)
I put some of my socks on him in hopes that he'd stay warmer; that's also my scarf. Maybe we should invest in some better quality winter clothes. What do you think?
The person in the background shoveling is me...Tom's such a punk; he said I couldn't come in until everything was shoveled. (Just kidding: I about went cabin fever crazy and asked Tom if I could have a turn shoveling.)
The crazy thing about Oklahoma is that plows never come through the neighborhoods. When it snows, you're sidelined for a long time. School was out the entire week even though it wasn't snowing anymore. This picture was taken two days after the big storm.
Some of our friends came over to sled and play. Their son is 11 years old and he helped Tyler see the true fun of snow. It was great. He laughed the whole time even though he was freezing cold.

Cute pictures! As far as investing in better winter gear: This year my kids went out and in so many times that each of them went through at least three pairs of gloves. (They kept getting soggy and muddy) So, yeah, when you find some cheap stuff, stock up! And/or get some hand-me-downs from friends with older kids. Gloves and hats stretch, so growing kids can wear them forever.
