As you may remember, Tom took me to see Tim McGraw for my birthday. He's not a big country fan but went because he knew I'd like it. Well, a few weeks ago he told me that a friend of his offered us free Brooks and Dunn Tickets with backstage passes to see Jason Aldean who opened for them. Obviously, I was pumped!
Here I am backstage. It was amazing because there were only a few people and we got to have our own little mini concert (okay just one song, but it was still awesome) and questions/answer session.

looks like you guys had a lot of fun.
Tyler says that Tom ALWAYS liked country. He says that he listened to Shania Twain on REPEAT in the outback.... So apparently he's been holding out on you.
Congrats on the conversion Tom - Way to go Em! Gotta Love country music.
Dear Tom-
Now that you are public with you love of country music I want to clear the air. I guess you were really just born that way. (Not sure how someone born ion Utah and from Illinois was born that way) I wonder where we parted ways and drifted apart. I guess you stopped listening after my songs did not keep relevant with your changing life. I have always been real with my lyrics, shows and fans. I am not going to start singing about John Deer equipment just because you now own some. I have stayed the same and will remain fiercely loyal to my roots and why I am into music. I would never let some stupid money hungry record label change me into something I am not. I will miss you as a fan but the real Tom left me years ago. Good luck with your new life. I hope that you dropping me does not mean that your butt rock days are also in the rear view mirror. Every Rose still has its thorn Tom no matter if you listen to the song or not.
I hope to see you at my next show. I will be playing the Oshkosh Wisconsin county fair. If your not there I get it but it cuts deep you know?!
Forever yours-
Vanilla Ice
