Memorial Day Weekend

Our Memorial Day Weekend began with a little tornado clean-up. I use the term "our" liberally since it was Tom who cleaned up. It turns out no one wants a pregnant woman out there with a chain saw hauling debris.  Tom said the devastation was humbling. He had never seen anything like it...people's belonging scattered everywhere, house and tree remains that looked like they had been through a wood chipper, etc.Thankfully there isn't a lack of people wanting to help.  The clean up will take months; hopefully the enthusiasm to help will remain.  I can't express enough how blessed I feel to have missed such a horrible storm. My heart goes out to those families that have been so severely affected. Please keep them in your prayers.

While Tom cleaned, the boys and I went to the park. I'm dying over Mikey lately. He is so animated and funny.
On Monday, we went to a little pool party with a few friends. Mikey kept swishing his hands in the water and saying, "look mommy! I swimming!!"
Tyler loved watching all the daddies play water basketball. He made a few shots from outside the pool. He also spent a significant amount of time jumping in and "swimming" as well. I love the way Tyler is always up for fun. It's energizing to be around someone who is so excited about life.
Now I'm in full "nesting" mode. My amazing mom offered to take the boys for a couple of days so I'm planning on cleaning and organizing. Doesn't that sound like a party? The boys were both excited about spending some time at Grandma's house without me. I'm sure their adventures will be more fun than mine.
