We had a ward picnic a couple of weeks ago and when Tyler found out there would be a bike parade, he began serious training. We got there early to help and he started practicing right away. In typical Robins fashion, Tyler's little face turned bright red as he road and road. When it was time for the parade he had already been riding for about an hour. He was all smiles lining up with the big kids. As he went around in the circle he was oblivious to the big kids speeding past him, he just kept working and working. We heard several comments like, "Wow, just watching Tyler makes me tired" or "He's going to sleep well tonight." We were at the picnic for over three hours and he only stopped riding to eat for about 15 minutes and play soccer. Do you think maybe someday he'll like endurance sports? A mother can only dream. :)
Side note: When we were at the picnic Tyler asked some older kids...teenagers I think...if he could play soccer with them and they said no. He completely lost it and Tom had to bring him to me because he was hysterical. A little boy in our ward who I think is around 8 saw that Tyler was having a hard time and came over, "Hey Tyler, will you come play soccer on my team? We even have a grown up on our team." Tyler beamed with excitement and played with serious intensity. I know it's momish of me to admit that I got teary eyed. Tyler already looked up to that boy and it meant a lot to him. What a good moment.

I love when older kids are nice to our little ones! And I'm seriously impressed with Tyler's riding skills....if it had been Jackson...he would have started and quit within about 3 minutes.
It's great to see how much Tyler loves being active. That kid who wouldn't let Tyler play is going to regret it one day when Tyler plays professional sports. It's just in him to do it.
