Brian and Erika

Labor Day weekend was awesome because we got to go to Portland for my brother in law Brian's wedding. He married one of the sweetest, most sincere people I've ever met, Erika. Everyone is super happy to have her in the family. Brian and Erika wanted the family to play a major roll in the wedding. They asked Mike to welcome everyone and conduct the ceremony and Tom officiated. Tom and Mike are two of the most confident speakers I've ever met but I they were both a little nervous because they wanted to make their older brother's day perfect. What great brothers. They both did an amazing job! Because I'm not a great photographer, I didn't get a good picture of the ceremony. I need someone to tutor me in the ways of picture taking. Erika's dress was amazing!
We left Tyler at home with my mom so Mikey got all the attention. He ate it up. In fact when we were in an elevator in the airport, Tyler started cooing to get some stranger's attention. When they looked over and talked to him, he laughed and laughed. He's a true Robins. :)
Tom's cousin Lucy came with her three kids. She has a little guy that's Mikey's age and they had fun being by each other. It was fun to get the kids together. I love those cheeks!
Because Lucy had her kids, we decided to spend some time at the park. There was a pond with ducks so we thought it would be fun to let the kids feed them. After they started throwing in treats, we noticed this sign informing us that feeding the ducks was unhealthy and environmentally unsound. I totally appreciate the argument but I couldn't help but laugh when we saw this guy. His kids wanted to feed the ducks and he went off about how bad it was and how the city spent a million bucks to clean the pond and we were wrecking it with our bread crumbs. His poor kids were like, "...um okay, I just wanted to toss in a crumb or two." I think the reason why it was so funny was because it's the complete opposite of what would happen in Oklahoma. In fact, I'm pretty sure that if someone were to hunt ducks at the local park, no one would even bat an eye. I guess that's the beauty of visiting other places.
Like I said before, we had a wonderful weekend. I'm so happy that I have such great in-laws. I seriously lucked out. I'm also happy that I have a new sister in law and that she's so wonderful. I'm excited for when we can all be together again.
