Back in the Saddle Again!

This morning I ran a St Patrick's Day 5K. It's the first race I've done since Baby T came along and I'll tell ya, I'm glad I started small. It's funny to think that in the past I would be running a race and think, "Sweet, only three more miles to go!" When I reached the 2K mark today I thought, "Dang, I can't believe I still have so far to go."
During most races, there is someone at the mile markers to let you know how fast you are going. I thought I was cruising because when I went past the first marker, the guys said, "Four minutes 30 seconds." I was in disbelief! I've never run a mile that fast! Who says that having a baby slows you down? I quickly realized he was standing at the 1K mark...a little different. :)
While I didn't get my best time ever, it was really fun to get back in the game. Who knows, I may try doing a post baby marathon...someday.

You look great!!! Congrats! I wish we could run together again. It's been so long, first i'm pregnant, than you. Now that we are back running, you moved. So sad!
I need some motivation to go faster!

Em! Hooray for little races! :) I wish you were here to run with me. I think if I keep training (and get into St. George) I will qualify for Boston this year....not that I would run it, but just to say that I had. I ran a race last weekend too -- nothing better than the good old trusty Rex E. Lee 10k! :)
