Not a lot has been happening in the Robin's household as of late. However, I feel badly having the post where Tyler hurt Mikey up first on our blog for any longer. So...here are our recent non-event events.
A couple of weeks ago, I took Tyler in for his 4 year old check up. I don't know what got into him but he was hysterical the entire time. Okay, I do know what got into him...the scary anticipation of a shot, but he had never been like that a the doctor before. He wouldn't let the doctor or nurses do any of the routine things. When the doctor was listening to his heart, looking in his ears, etc, Ty was wailing, "NO! NO! NO!" My favorite is when Tyler yelled, "Don't touch my penis!!!" Oh...Tyler Boy...at least we know he's protective about his body. Luckily, everything checked out in the health department and he's only mildly scarred from the trauma.
On our way home, we saw a pumpkin patch and had to stop. I feel like pumpkins make every picture look better even if you're taking it with your phone. Tyler was excited about climbing the haystack but was disgusted by the smell of hay. Now every time we pass anything with hay he says, "Ewwww....Mom, we don't like hay do we?!?"
We spent last weekend at my parent's house watching General Conference. As usual, I wish I would have taken pictures. I really wish I had a picture of Tyler coming into my room on Saturday morning with his self packed bag, "MOM!!! Grandma is waiting for me!! We need to go!" Mikey was trailing behind him with an huge empty bag, "Mom!! Let's go!! Grandma!!" I love that they love them.
Unfortunately, the excitement of being at Grandma and Grandpa's house made watching conference a little difficult. Those boys are busy. My parents were super patient with not being able to watch it peacefully. Bekah and family came to watch one of the sessions with us. As I've said before, I love watching our kids play together. They're such great friends. The day after we played, Tyler said, "Mom, if I have a friend that doesn't talk nicely, I should be around that friend right?" I said that it's good to be around people who talk nicely. He said, "Ellie talks really nicely. I'm glad she's my friend." Love, love, love those two.
The kids had a fun time playing with Grandma and Grandpa. As usual, my dad built fun things with them. My mom cooked yummy things and provided them with lots of playtime and hugs. They love to snuggle in bed with her and watch a show every time they visit. My mom always makes sure to have their favorites recorded. We don't have cable and they do so shows like Mickey Mouse (or "Mickey House" as Mikey would said) and Handy Manny are super exciting. We are blessed to have such a great family.
Some people have Super Bowl Parties. We had a Vice Presidential Debate Party. What has Tom turned me into? Last night we had a few friends over to watch the debate. We played debate BINGO and had some yummy food. It's funny because we live in Oklahoma and we're Mormon so obviously we are all pro-Romney. After the debate all of us were chatting about politics and all the reasons we need Romney as a president. I guess I just think it's funny that we are in such a political bubble with this election.
Finally, today we were at Target and we saw Tyler's preschool teacher from last year. He was so excited that he ran straight into her arms and she scooped him up into a big bear hug. Oh how we love Miss Mary Kay. I almost cried it was so stinking cute.

This was anything but a "non-events" post! Every day is an event with these boys. It put a smile on my face, as always. Wish we could be there for the parties, the pumpkins...love ya!
