30 Years Old

Tom and I are what we like to call "birthday brats." We both love to make a big deal out of other peoples' birthdays...and our own. We don't just celebrate our birthday...we celebrate our birthday week. Because Tom's birthday is only three weeks before mine, he always makes it clear that he'll put as much effort into my big day as I do into his. Of course that means I try to go all out for Tom's birthday...because I'm a birthday brat. With that being said, Tom was so thoughtful in celebrating my birthday. He totally spoiled me. As you know, we went to the Tim McGraw concert a few weeks ago which was awesome! Then, on Saturday morning, he woke up early with Tyler and went to the store to get me chocolate milk and donuts (seriously, he knows the way to my heart). He also did a ton of yard work on Saturday which I know he hates but he didn't complain at all. He also took me out on Saturday night (thanks again Mom for babysitting). We went to dinner at the Outback (thanks Meg for the Christmas gift that keeps on giving) and then to the movie "The Back-Up Plan" (totally lame...DON'T go see it). The lame movie actually worked in my favor because we left early and went shopping (another thing Tom doesn't love but did it anyway...what a great guy!). On Sunday, Tom took care of Tyler all day and also invited a few people over for cake and ice cream (thanks again mom for the AWESOME cake). It was so sweet because on Sunday night Tom said something like, "I feel badly because I'm not doing enough for your birthday." Are you kidding me??? He really knows how to take care of a birthday brat. Yesterday (my actual birthday) was great because my friend Erica babysat Tyler in the morning so I could be productive, everyone called or stopped by to say "Happy Birthday" and my parents took us out to dinner. Mandy sent me a Target gift card which I used to buy the "Twilight: New Moon" movie (no laughing...you can't teach middle school for six whole years and not have that stuff rub off on you). Tom, being that amazing husband that he is, watched the movie with me (for the second time). I had a wonderful day. Thanks everyone for indulging my birthday brattiness. Seriously, I have the best friends and family ever!

I had to include this video because Isaac is the cutest nephew in the entire world!!!

Happy Birthday!!! I am glad you have had a great week. I am laughing so hard about you buying the New Moon movie. I haven't let my students rub off on me that much.

I think Myles and the girls have caught on to the Robins' B-day week tradition now, too. Gotta love it! Glad you had such a great week!
